    Day 1: Arrive in Delhi 
    Arrive at Delhi International Airport.

    Delhi, the administrative and political capital of India, is a major tourist attraction and a perfect start for a holiday in India, because of its rich heritage and cultural past, revealed in its monuments, parks, Government buildings and other places of interest. Delhi’s attractions range from forts and monuments dating back a thousand years to modern shopping malls, nightclubs and golf courses, as well as a wide range of cuisines to suit every taste.

    Upon clearing Customs and Immigration, our representative will meet you to extend a warm welcome. Drive through the Diplomatic Enclave to arrive at your hotel. Our representative will provide assistance with check in and will present you with a welcome pack, including all necessary documentation as well as the travel plan.

    Enjoy the rest of the day / night at leisure.

     
     
    Day 2: Delhi 
    This morning, your guide picks you up from your hotel to go to an Ashram for an introduction to and a session of Yoga. Return to the hotel for a leisurely breakfast and then visit Humayun's Tomb, a 16th century monument, which is often considered the predecessor to the Taj Mahal. Proceed to the Lotus Temple, dedicated to the Baha’i religion and considered an architectural delight.

    Enjoy lunch at the finest Indian restaurant of modern times, which has won several awards and is a showcase destination for signature menus created by its celebrity chef, who blends fusion Indian with traditional Indian cuisine to delight gastronomes.

    After lunch, visit the Qutab Minar, the tallest stone minaret which was a part of the first mosque in India, dating back to the 12th century. Take a walk in the Lodi Gardens before returning to the hotel.

    Enjoy SPA services at the hotel.

    In the evening, we take you for a welcome dinner to an upscale Delhi restaurant, in the bustling city area, where you also witness the cosmopolitan Delhi culture. Return to your hotel after a memorable evening.

    Day 3: Delhi 
    After breakfast, tour Bangla Sahib, the largest Sikh temple in Delhi, followed by Old Delhi, with your guide. Admire the Red Fort, one of the most opulent Mughal forts, built by the fifth Mughal emperor Shah Jehan in the 17th century. Visit the Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque, and ride a rickshaw in Chandni Chowk, one of the busiest shopping areas of Delhi. Proceed to Rajghat to view the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the Nation, before enjoying authentic Indian Kebabs at one of the oldest Delhi restaurants, famous for its delectable cuisine as much for its interesting setting.

    Drive through Connaught Place, designed by Sir Edwin Landseer Lutyens in the early 20th century, as a shopping arcade for the elite and known for its circular design and the many fabric, textiles and handicrafts shops, as well as noted art and antiques galleries. Visit major monuments, parks, gardens and government buildings including India Gate, the national monument, followed by the Houses of Parliament and Rashtrapati Bhawan, all of which were designed by Lutyens and his partner, Henry Baker, as a testament to the power of the British Raj. Ironically, India gained its independence not long after the last phase of this world-famous and much-studied urban development was completed in 1930s.

    In the evening, we take you for dinner to a Delhi household, where you meet a local family and witness Indian hospitality at its best. Return to your hotel after a memorable evening.

    Day 4: Delhi – Jaipur 
    Today after breakfast, a short drive (250 Km / 5 Hrs) takes you to Jaipur, which owes its name, foundation and careful planning to the great warrior -astronomer Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II (1693 - 1743). It is a marvelous blend of traditional and modern, with its crowds, bazaars, vegetable-laden camel carts and dusky-pink buildings, which give it the name of “The Pink City”.

    Later this afternoon, a romantic hot air balloon ride provides you with a breathtaking aerial view of the Pink City. Spend some time shopping - Jaipur is famous for its textiles, stone cutting and pottery. Early this evening drive to the foothills of the Aravali Range. A local Rajput family, living in the area, organizes elephant, horse and camel safaris in the jungle, using their beautiful home and camp as base. You get an opportunity to interact with the local farmers in the village, so that you get to know the real India. Enjoy dinner around the bonfire savoring the most authentic Rajasthani delicacies in a personalized environment while the elaborate bar serves the most exotic blends in a rustic yet luxurious atmosphere.

    Day 5: Jaipur 
    Start off on an elephant ride to Amber Fort after an early breakfast at the hotel. Also visit Artchill, a gallery that displays Indian art. Return to Jaipur to visit the astronomical observatory built by the founder of the city, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II and also view the royal treasures at the Palace, which houses a rare collection of Indian art. After lunch, continue sightseeing in the old city. Visit Hawa Mahal, where the ladies of the royal harem used to observe the goings-on in the city from behind the intricately carved facade. Stop at the Birla temple, dedicated to lord Vishnu and his consort Lakshmi, which features exquisite marble carvings. The tour ends at the Nahargarh Fort, where you enjoy sunset over a cup of tea.

    Enjoy a relaxing hour-long massage at the hotel SPA, on your return.

    Enjoy the rest of the evening and dinner at the hotel.

    Day 6: Jaipur – Ranthambore 
    This morning, go on a drive to Ranthambore (180 Km / 3 Hrs) after breakfast. Ranthambore, the former hunting ground of the Maharajas of Jaipur, is situated in Eastern Rajasthan at a point where the Aravali hill ranges and the Vindhyan plateau meet. It is watered by the Chambal and the Banas, and includes six man-made lakes and several perennial streams. The rugged terrain and the dense deciduous forests are major features of this national park, which has the largest and most diverse collection of wildlife species in India.

    On arrival in Ranthambore our representative will meet you and assist you with check in at the hotel. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon over lunch.

    Later in the afternoon, take a jeep safari through the National Park, to spot various indigenous animals like nilgai, chausingha, chital, chinkara, wild boar and tiger. Other inhabitants of the Park include the muntjac, jungle cat, ratel, hyena, porcupine, the rhesus macaque and the black-faced langur. About 150 species of birds are also found here, including migratory birds, like the steppe eagle, that arrive in winter. On return at the hotel enjoy a leisurely evening followed by dinner.

    Day 7: Ranthambore – Agra (280 Km / 5.5 Hrs) 
    Enjoy an early morning safari in the Ranthambore National Park, to spot the tiger in its natural habitat. After the morning safari and breakfast at the hotel, drive to Agra. On arrival in Agra our representative will meet you and assist with the check in at the hotel. In the late afternoon, meet your guide to visit the Taj Mahal- the monument of love, at sunset. The Taj has been designed in such a manner that it appears magical whether you see it at dawn, sunset or in the moonlight. Visit an astrologer / palmist for a consultation to gain insights into your life and destiny.

    Enjoy the Saga of the Taj (a musical play) before returning to the hotel for dinner.

    Day 8: Agra 
    After breakfast, your guide takes you to Mehtab Bagh for a distant view of the Taj in the morning light of the Sun. Drive past the Agra Fort and visit Itmad-Ud-Daulah’s tomb, which is considered another precursor to the Taj and displays exquisite craftsmanship in stone.

    Later, visit Fatehpur Sikri, the beautiful capital built in the 17th century by the third Mughal emperor, Akbar the Great. The city was later abandoned for lack of water. A superb example of Mughal architecture, it stands perfectly preserved in the desert. Also visit the artistically designed mausoleum of Salim Chisti, who prayed for a son for Akbar, leading to the birth of Salim (who became the 4th Mughal Emperor - Jehangir). Return to the hotel as the Sun sets.

    In the evening, we take you for dinner to a fine city restaurant. After a memorable evening retire to the comfort of your hotel.

    Day 9: Agra – Jhansi – Orchha - Khajuraho 
    You can choose to have an early breakfast in the hotel or on the Shatabdi express train, which you will board for Jhansi and then continue by car to visit Orchha, an amazing medieval fortress-city located on the bank of the Betwa River, with your guide. After lunching at a resort in Orchha; drive to Khajuraho to view the splendid 10th century Chandela temples, known for their erotic sculptures. On arrival in Khajuraho, our representative will meet you and assist with the check in at the hotel. Unwind for a bit before you go to see the Sound and Light show at the Western Group of temples. Enjoy dinner at the hotel.

    Day 10: Khajuraho – Varanasi 
    After breakfast, tour the Western & Eastern group of temples built by the Chandelas during the 10th and 11th centuries, with your guide. Return to the hotel, check out and proceed to the airport, for a short flight to Varanasi. Enjoy a snack - lunch on board.

    On arrival in Varanasi, our representative will meet you and assist with the check in at the hotel. In the evening, go for a rickshaw ride with your guide through the narrow streets of the city. Arrive at the Ghats to watch the funeral pyres and witness the most spectacular prayer ceremony on the Ganges from a boat. The music of the cymbals and the light of the oil lamps will leave you entranced. Witness the silk weaving demonstration by the master weavers before returning to the hotel for dinner.

    Day 11: Varanasi - Delhi 
    In the early morning, go for a boat cruise on the river Ganges, and observe the life of the city. Observe how those bathing in the river offer prayers to the rising sun. Visit the two cremation ghats, Manikarnika and Harishchandra, where funeral pyres burn day and night. Pious Hindus believe that dying in Kashi and being cremated on the banks of the Ganges will free them from the cycle of birth and death. Return to the hotel for breakfast, then check out and transfer to the airport. A short flight brings you to Delhi (snack-lunch on board), where you are met by our executive. Spend time at a city mall to experience the local life.

    Today we host a farewell dinner for you at an authentic Indian Restaurant.

    Transfer to the airport to take your flight back home, reminiscing the colorful India experience. And longing to return soon to visit more wonders of the Indian Subcontinent!!
